At Katherine Halford Greene Artist, we are fully equipped with the knowledge and supplies to teach others how to make one-of-a-kind paintings. Offering lessons to adults and children, our art classes are comprehensive, available for improving artists and complete beginners.
If you have particular sketches or ideas you would like to show us, we will gladly take a look at them with you, and help you learn the skills to develop your painting to its full potential and creative goal.
Acrylic Painting for Beginners
At Katherine Halford Greene Artist we offer extensive and affordable lessons in acrylic painting for beginners. These classes are hosted by our experienced and friendly team of painters, who are ready to help guide you when learning difficult techniques at your own pace.
These lessons do not require your own materials or supplies, as we provide all materials in-house as part of your lessons. If any extra supplies are needed, you will be notified in advance of lesson payment.
Acrylic Transfer Painting
One of the most unique lesson packages we offer is a course in acrylic transfer painting. These lessons are intended for intermediate painters.
Our lead painter Katherine Halford Greene is experienced with using this technique, combining it with her experience in performance art to create evocative and experimental imagery.
An acrylic transfer is taking the ink printed from an affected piece of paper such as a photograph, and applying it onto a canvas to create stunning and abstract works of art.
Children’s Painting Lessons
At Katherine Halford Greene Artist, we want to teach children the joy and fun you can have while painting from an early age. Your child could be the world’s next great artist.
Our classes in painting are geared towards teaching children valuable skills, while also showing them ways to express themselves on paper, the canvas and beyond.
Each member of our team is vetted to work with children and is experienced with teaching children of all ages, making sure they aren’t overwhelmed and are having a great time.

Where can I find art classes near me?
Our art classes are located just off the M17 in County Galway at our Sandyhill Cottage Studio. Directions are available on our Contact Us page and we would be happy to discuss ways to get here over the phone or email.
Will I be charged extra for painting supplies?
All of our painting supplies are provided in our studio as part of your lessons. If you bring in your own materials for certain projects, we can discuss deducting their price from your lesson payment.
